Crafting Your Flower Granny Squares: A Detailed Guide
Start by creating the flower center of your granny square. We will be working in the round, starting with a magic ring, and then crocheting petals using a combination of stitches on both the back loop and front loop to make that textured look .
Once the flower is complete, you'll form the surrounding square by working two additional rounds. This part of the tutorial will guide you through each stitch and round. Photos will accompany each step, so you can see exactly how your work should look as you progress.
Notes:
- This pattern will be worked in the round.
- will begin each round with chain 2 and join the round with a slip stitch.
- the beginning chain 2 doesn't count as a stitch

Joining Your Squares
After you've crocheted the required number of granny squares(Feel free to add as many squares as you desire to create a bag size that suits your style and needs.), it's time to join them together. I used a single crochet to combine them but you can also sew or use a slip stitch.
Bring the squares together with the flower base on top, ensuring that the wrong sides are facing each other Next, work a single crochet around the entire perimeter of the squares, excluding the top side. For the top edge, continue with a single crochet along the edge like shown in the picture.
Crocheting the edge
Continuing to work in the rounds and joining after each one, begin by joining with the flower color in any stitch.
Round 1: ch 2 and work front post double crochet (FPdc) and back post double crochet (BPdc) stitches all around. Finally, join with the first FPdc stitch to complete the round.
This creates the opening for threading the band through for your pouch.
Round 2: ch1, sc in the first stitch, sc in the next stitch, (hdc, 2dc, hdc) in the next stitch. Continue repeating this pattern until you reach the end of the round, then slip stitch to the first single crochet to join.
Crochetting the String Flower
ch 13, dc into 4th chain from hook. Skip 2 and DC, chain 2 DC into the same stitch( That's a V stitch). Repeat till the end of the row
R2: turn your work. 5 hdc , sc into the 2 chain space and repeat
Roll up the completed piece and sew it together along the seam.
Crocheting band with the leaf
ch 70.
We will continue to make the leave. Turn around and Slst into the second chain from the hook, sc in the next stitch, DC, DC, sc, sl stitch, slip stitch into the corresponding stitch on the opposite side (the leaf's other half) , sc, DC, DC, sc, ch 1 and slp stitch into the first sc.
Cut yarn and weave in the end
Customizing Your Pouch: Adding Lining, Closures, and Accessories
Personalizing your pouch is where you can truly showcase your individuality. Enhance its durability by adding a fabric lining, and consider incorporating unique closures like zippers or buttons instead of a traditional string. If crocheting the flower and leaf string isn't your style, opt for a charming ribbon as an alternative. Let your creativity shine through in every detail of your granny square bag!
Final Touches: Finishing Your Granny Square Bag
Once all your elements are prepared, the last step is putting together your bag. Thread your string through the FPdc and BPdc, then attach the small flower to the end without the leaf. Finish by weaving in any loose ends and blocking your squares for a flawless finish.
Well done on completing your pouch! I trust you found this tutorial enjoyable and are pleased with your creation.
