Let’s Crochet a Moon! 🌙

Start with a Magic Ring (Don’t panic! If you hate magic rings, just chain 2 and work 8 sc into the first chain.)
Chain 1 doesn't count as a stitch

Round 1: 8sc into mc, sl st 1st sc to join. (8 st)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st. (16 st)
Round 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st. (32 st)

Round 4: Ch 1, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, repeat around, sl st. (48 st)

Round 5: Ch 1, sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st, repeat around, sl st. ( 64 st)

Round 6 : Fold your circle in half—ta-da, it’s a crescent moon! 🌙
Sc through both stitches from the edges together (stuff it lightly if you want a puffy moon).

Fasten off and use the tail to sew on a keychain ring, and boom—you’re done!

Ideas to Make It Your Own

  • Use sparkly yarn – Because moons should shimmer, right?
  • Add beads or embroidery – Tiny stars? A face? Go wild.
  • Make a bunch in different colors – Rainbow moons, anyone?
